Summer Updates

Price Changes

Ahhhh price adjustments, everyone's least favorite time of year. While last year's price increases were necessary at the time, they didn't sit well with us. Our mission is to make our products as accessible as possible, and we know that starts with pricing. That's why this year we're proud to announce most of our price changes are actually price decreases. Take a look below to see what's changing.

Pricing FAQ's

How is bulk getting so much cheaper?

Over the past year we’ve hired extra help, invested in more efficient equipment, and created partnerships that allow us to buy large quantities of materials at a fraction of the price. Year over year, we can make 3 times the amount of product with the same amount of labor and our material costs have overall decreased by 27%. This means substantial savings without sacrificing quality and we’re passing it along to you!

Why is bulk Daily Face Moisturizer going down in price, but the retail size is going up?

Labor costs go up year over year at the same rate as inflation to maintain a living wage for our employees. While we’ve gotten more efficient at making bulk, we haven’t gotten more efficient at bottling retail sized products. We also sell a lot less of our Daily Face Moisturizer compared to our other skincare products, so it doesn't benefit from any major material price breaks. Our Gel Face Wash and Makeup Remover have benefited enough from material price breaks to offset any labor increases, which is why they’re getting a small price decrease.

WOAH, what is going on with pressed powders?

Unfortunately, all of our products in 100% bamboo packaging have had to face a price increase. Setting Powder just underwent a price increase when it re-launched and it’s time for our pressed powders in bamboo compacts to follow suit. In addition, the manufacturing of pressed powders involves carefully pressing each powder and inspecting for air bubbles/defects that cause breakage in transit, which is very labor intensive. This was not an easy decision, but a necessary one. Even with this price increase our refillable blushes and highlights are still priced lower than many of our competitors.

Anything else I should know?

We’ve decided against increasing the cost of our lip balms, even though material costs have risen dramatically. Due to drought and disease, there is a severe cocoa butter shortage that is causing a 400% price increase for this ingredient. The cocoa butter supply chain has been strained for 4 years now and there is no relief in sight. We know our balms are a best seller for many of our retailers due to their accessible price point, and we’re working to maintain our low prices for as long as possible. While don’t anticipate any price increases in the next calendar year, materials prices are out of our control and if cocoa butter prices continue to increase we will have to adjust pricing.

Discontinued Products

In addition to price changes, we're also making the tough decision to let some products go. Most of these products will be coming back with new packaging or formulas, and in the interim we're discontinuing the old so we can focus on the new.

Disco FAQ's

Not The Gloss!

Our current gloss formula is VERY expensive for us to produce. It's also finicky and prone to separation in the heat, is awful to clean out of tubes and equipment, and is overall a very bad no good time. In addition, half of our shades don't sell as well as we need them to. So we're doing a total overhaul. Stay tuned for more updates!

What's the Mineral Foundation Packaging update?

We have gotten a LOT of feedback from you on our foundation and we've listened! Our Mineral Foundation is getting an update to be packaged just like our Setting Powder. Refillable, smaller and more durable containers, and most importantly, packaging that clearly shows customers the shades.

Our biggest critique was that customers couldn't tell which shade was inside which foundation container. Our packaging update will come with testers that have color coded stickers on the lids so customers can easily identify their closest shade, as well as refill pouches with clear windows (made from biodegradable film of course) so they know exactly what they're buying.

Have a lot of foundation currently sitting in your store and want to trade it in? Yep, we'll have a program for that. More info to come soon!

What's with the skincare reformulations?

We'll be doing a big skincare update this fall with a lot of really interesting and innovative bulk options. Stay tuned!
